I Want to have my child's car seat checked out

Seat Belt Safety and Child Restraint Program

car seat program

The North Kingstown Police Department, along with the State of Rhode Island on Highway Safety, inform and assist the public with motor vehicle occupant safety. During safety programs such as "Click It or Ticket ", officers perform safety check points on local roadways to promote the use of seat belts and properly installed car seats. While a check point is set for a week during high travel times of the year, officers are available year round to offer help to concerned motorists. Just a simple call can generate a meeting with one of these officers to offer useful information or a child safety seat check-up.

Car seat courtesy inspections are perfomed by appointment. You may set up an appointment with Patrol Officer Michelle Kinney by calling 294-3316 extension 8634 and leaving a message, or by calling the police dispatcher at 294-3311.
